Hey Lindsay,
I know you've been really busy with your job and your computer is dead so we haven't been able to talk much recently. Anyway, I hope you still have time to have a little bit of fun, and you aren't working too hard. I miss you a lot : (. Hopefully I will get a chance to talk with you this weekend!

RALEIGH!!!
You have to excuse me for being so lazy about taking these pictures and putting them up, but here they are! By the way, I thought your family looked really fun. I laughed how in every picture you poked your head in just a little bit. It's like everybody was trying to box you out of the photo : ).
Above: This is my dormitory from the street.
Above: This is directly across from the back side of my dorm. It's the first place where I arrived on campus and got my keys.
Above: This is the courtyard behind our dorm (barely visible on the left) with our volleyball court. I don't know what building that is but I think it looks so majestic.
Above: This is the backside of the building where I work.
Above: This is a very pretty park with the library in the background. I pass by the park on my way to one of the two food courts here whenever my lab decides to have a picnic lunch.
Above: This is my very clean room. Can you guess which side is mine?

Ok, I'll give you a hint...
LEFT SIDE!! PS..These books have NOT actually been opened since I got here. I just thought their presence added a lot of decorative dramatic effect.
And for an extremely awesome bit of trivia: If you look carefully at my computer monitor in the picture, you can actually tell that this was taken as an afterthought while I was writing the post!
You might be wondering where I am in these pictures. Long story short: I was going to have someone take a picture of me, but southern people are a bit odd and I figured they would probably just run off with my camera. : )
...Or maybe that was just another cheap hit at southerners and I was simply too gross looking from the gym and all of this hot, humid weather. More pictures soon!

The Family
I finally got my family to pose for pictures, although it took all day for me to wear them down..jpg)
My mom <33.jpg)
My dad!.jpg)
Both of my parents looked kind of weird in the pictures I took with them, so I took another of just them that I think is really cute.
I went to the zoo today and came across a lion!
And a mouse! Who looks a lot like my sister's friend Courtney (today she asked me who John McCain is and to explain the differences between Democrats and Republicans)
Every time I would snap a picture, they woul suddenly change into crazy expressions!
And 11 pictures later I have a normal one of my sister! You can't tell from here, but my sister is about 5'8" or 5'9", which makes her 4 or 5 inches taller than me.
No matter what I did, I couldn't get him to smile!
And for the second best....as I gushed to you, Obama finally has enough delegates to effectively win the campaign! Hillary has not conceded, but has expressed her desire to become the VP. I doubt Obama will select her as his running mate, but he has repeatedly stated that he would like her help in pushing for universal health care, so I wouldn't be surprised if he continued to work with her in the future in some form, or if he nominated her to some sort of position in his administration, should he win.
Anyway, his speech was inspiring and amazing, and I love how he was so respectful of his opponents and how he turned the rift in the Democratic party into something that can be overcome.

More Stories From the South
This picture makes me laugh every time... poor Jenn!
Today I got to experience a little of the North Carolina tradition: Tonight I went to a Pig Roast for dinner, where they had been slow-cooking a pig on a spit since 5am. I had the opportunity to look on in astonishment while a three-toothed gentleman in full lumberjack attire proceeded to hack it to bits with a battle-axe so we could all partake of the bounty. I thought it tasted really.....delicious (sarcasm). The interesting thing about the food down here in the south is that instead of tomato based BBQ (which you can't eat), they have vinegar based BBQ (which nobody from the entire civilized part of the United States can eat).
Aside from these perks, many of the North Carolina natives brag how special they are because they have this exclusive drink they call "sweet tea". I have met at least 5 different locals who have boasted about this drink of theirs, and I finally got to try some today. Get this: They put sugar in hot tea... and then they add ice until it's cold!...GENIUS. And to think, we small-minded northerners could never conceive of such a thing...
So in conclusion, maybe the South should have seceded permanently.
I hope your day was more exciting than mine, and I hope to talk soon. I promise to get some good pictures of Raleigh ASAP. It's just hard to get daylight time to take pictures while I'm working my crazy schedule and forking down so much Southern Barbecue!

my day!

Lake Shasta! ...Okay, this wasn't from today, but I thought it was pretty.
More pretty green :) I can't get enough of it!
My dog! His name is Decker, which requires some explanation. There's a hardware store around here called Black & Decker, and since he's black....obvs someone was trying to be creative here.
My cousin (left) and Tessa (right) in Seattle's International District this afternoon.
I wish I got to talk to you a little more! I'll call tomorrow <3
